I can tell you the newer E1 is at least as good or better. I still have a 6x40 ff2 with a 3p#4 I bought at least ten years ago. Considered replacing it but every time I look through it the thing impresses me still. I just bought an E1 with an illuminated 3p#4 and compared it to my Vx3 in low light. I figured the VX3 would outshine it after dusk but nope. The E1 , in my initial test, is every bit as good as the Leupy. The adjustments on all 3 scopes feel identical too. Which is to say decent but could be crisper.
Burris also come with a forever warranty. In fact the only 'negative' is that the power ring is rather stiff and the numbers on it are hard for my older eyes to read- but in the field I never try to read them and the power ring is certainly workable. It is one HELL of a great scope deal. Buy with absolute confidence.
