Anyone have a suggestion for a good Ballistic App that they like. I looked at Apple Store and there are so many, I didn't know which one may be better or worse than the other. I have my first FFL MRAD scope and I'm just going to admit I'm not doing so well converting to metric verses MOA. I have a Ruger RPF in 6.5 CM and a FX1000 6-24x MRAD scope that I'm trying my hand at a little informal long range target shooting. I would appreciate any suggestions for a good App. Thanks, Chuck.

Shooter, Strelok Pro, JBM Ballistics are the three I like best. I only shoot MOA but these and other Apps will do MRAD. Shooter and Strelok Pro cost you but JBM Doesn't.

I use Ballistic AE and like it ok but there are several others.

As far as converting to mils, don’t worry about how many inches you are moving the bullet at any given distance. It is completely irrelevant. What you want to know is how many mils you need to dial or hold.

Read this post from start to finish several times. It will help clear things up.

I use and teach with them all.

Shooter is by far my recommendation.

I’m still pretty much a novice at anything over 400 yards and Ballistic AE worked great for my hunt last week. My buddy and I had shots of 311, 370, and 570 yards and the elevation output matched perfectly - we dialed and had hits.

Apple or Android?

AE is one of the lowest rated apps from a usability perspective almost every time we’ve run it.

Apple.

I’m really surprised to hear that. I find it far easier, more intuitive, and more functional than AB, Shooter, etc, I’ve got them all.

Formidilosus,

Curious your opinion of MIL-Dot Ballistics? I find the U/I intuitive and easy to use; much better than the tabular output of the other apps Ive used. Its ability to pair with the Kestrel Drop to measure atmospherics is very useful in the field. I've looked at other apps, but not all of them, and always go back to MIL-Dot Ballistics because of its ease-of-use.

Have they ported it to Android yet? A friend had it when I was out west last year and it worked perfectly on his iPhone.

Wow. I really appreciate all the suggestions and feedback. I simply had no ideal there where so many available. I really hadn't researched it that much. I feel like I don't have to now. Again appreciate the time everyone took for the feedback.

Take a look at Nikon's Spot On Ballistic Program. It is free on app store or for your Android device. A lot of great information including environmental factors.

Been using Strelok Pro (android) & have not tried Shooter.

What are the advantages to Shooter; what does it do that Strelok does not do as it seems to be doing everything pretty well?

Thanks.

I just down-loaded "bullet drop" from the app store. It is just basic bullet drop/windage info, but is spot on and easy to use. Great for idiots like me. I like Hornady, but it is a bit trickier to use at times.

I have and have used several..Shooter is the only thing I consistently rely on.

I do wish they would update their bullet library a little more frequently.
