This is the last rifle my son High Brass bought. Our daughter-in-law gave it to Chad's best friend Ryan (Rye77). It's a Ruger 77 MKII stainless 308 with a laminate stock and a 3x9 CDS. I gave Ryan the scope so all 3 of us are together in the woods when Ryan hunts with it.
The Karma bus always has an empty seat when it comes around.- High Brass

The fencepost that started the thread over 7 years ago From today, a Barrett Fieldcraft 270 Win cut at 23": Different fencepost, same fence... That's funny! Shrap (Kirk), looks like you're a bit further East...

It is for sure almost identical pictures, how can that happen? Your picture has sagebrush, mine is open field, yet the same identifying hills are in the background...

For sure! Your shot was taken on the Park County side of the valley closer to Wilsall...

From this year's unsuccessful (so far) deer hunt: Fieldcraft in 6.5 Creed with SWFA 6x MQ Remington 722 in 308 win. This rifle went to Africa with my late wife almost 20 years ago on a plains game hunt. She used it to kill kudu, impala, bushbuck and more. Now my son hunts with it exclusively. Tikka T3 stainless fluted in 308 win with a 6x MQ. Used to be mine, but a Marine friend wanted it and we made a deal. We were hunting the farms near Dixie, WA. Lots of does, some small bucks, nothing worth shooting at.

A pair of 7mm-08s. A Winchester Model 70 Fwt. with a Leupold VX3i 2.5-8 in Talley LW lows (7 lb. 11 oz.), and a Remington Model 7 with Timney trigger, Leuplod VX1 2-7, Talley LW lows in a B&C Medalist (6 lb. 10 oz). Nosler Ballistic tips for both - 150 grain over 41.0 gr. Varget at 2675 fps for the M70 and 120 grain over 40.0 gr. H4895 at 2800 fps for the M7.

Thanks! Alan Harton made it.
5.5” barrel. Full length ejector rod and housing. 6 round cylinder. Millet rear and Harton made patridge front. Belt Mt. base pin. Cerakoted alloy parts. Nitre blue pins and screws. Reblued metal. Maple grips I made. Rounded butt. Super Blackhawk hammer spur grafted to factory hammer. Action job. She’s tight as a bank vault.

An unemployed Jester, is nobody's Fool.
the only real difference between a good tracker and a bad tracker, is observation. all the same data is present for both. The rest, is understanding what you're seeing.
