You folks running the AR in 3 gun or other active rifle competitions that require shooting out to 300m, what optics have you found that work well?

Buy the best you can afford and you'll probably be happy. I say "probably" because after sixty years of buying this stuff, I'm still looking for the "perfect" scope that I can afford. The main thing is to have fun and remember: "It's only money". My first wife once told me she didn't care what it was or how much it cost, just don't tell her it was the last one I was going to buy.
Rich or poor, it pays to have money.

I just finished researching this subject. What I found recommended was:
Budget: $3-400 Burris RT6 $1000 Burris 1-8 $1200 Vortex Razor 1-6 $1800 Kahles 1-6 Of course you need to evaluate your needs, weight especially - that Razor is heavy.
I found a good deal on the Burris 1-8 locally and I really like it. Fast on 1x, ffp so any mag works well for drops. Daylight bright.

As the resident skeptic I'd trust his advise, in the price range he quoted, over just about anyone's. If however, you go budget, I'd be interested in hearing how the Burris RT6 performs and hold up to hard use.

Yeah, you already said that. Don't get snippy, skippy. Especially after your post was just regurgitating what you read other people say.....

Eurooptic has the old Vortex Razor Gen II's on closeout for $900. Hard to beat that deal.

I have a burris RT6 and it’s great. At 1x it has a wide Fov and the glass is good . Didn’t get a chance to shoot it that much but you can find it sometimes under $300.

I just opted for a Stiener PX4i, for what I want it for it seems to be decent, my only complaint is that the clicks are mushy, however it tracks well. Bluedreaux knows a lot of police whose rifles wear them. I gave up on the idea of the NX8, I am sure they are more durable at 3 times the price, but they can sell their capped windage turret model to operators and not to us serfs.
