Terry Wieland has a review of the Zephyr II in Rifle magazine. It seemed like something to think about if you were in the market for one.

DIP has already tooled up for much nicer trigger guards, too, so you don't have to look at that funky bent piece of strap metal for long, if you don't want to look at it.

You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.

I have not seen the new Zepher ll in person but since it takes CZ magazines and the trigger guard looks like the CZ trigger guard I have a sneaking suspicion that the CZ trigger guard was also used on the Zepher.

223 Rem, my favorite cartridge - you can't argue with truckloads of dead PD's and gophers.

I thought the same thing when I first saw pics of the Steyrs but did a little more research and found that even though they DO look similar , the Steyr trigger guard is different. The screw hole spacing is not the same. Also, the placement of the magazine slot is different as well.

Which makes sense because the part that the Steyr action has in common with the CZs is that it uses the same
magazines .

I'm really interested to see how the accuracy is on the Zephyr 2.

I like several things about it... tang safety, threaded, uses CZ magazines (which I have probably over a dozen), But if it will not shoot at least as good as my CZ's Then I see no reason to get one.

I don't have a Zephyr II. Have several originals. From reports on Zephyr II the bolt design is a problem. Extraction...bullet scarring, etc.

Take a look at bolts from Annnies, CZ's, etc, quite a bit of difference.

Anyone here experience these problems?
