Thanks for the tip Denny but "IF" there is a next time I think I'll just omit the ham.
I'm liking the looks of the recipe posted in the scalloped potato's thread.
Potato's, onion, and cream. Sometimes simple just works.

Got the grill going this evening and made mac n cheese and smoked sausage. Usually when I smoke something on the grill we will make plates and take to my parents and my wife mother who are all in their mid 80's. My wife also made a pot of navy beans and cole slaw to go along with the other.It was all good.

I made carnitas tonight. We had them with some pintos and flour tortillas. Simple and darn tasty.

Wife and I both got home later.

Looked at each other and said Chili cheese onion dogs.

I grilled up a couple of Hebrews she heated, grated and chopped.

Couple of beers in frosty mugs watching the World Series.

Venison tenderloins (mule deer i harvested yesterday) seasoned with Johnson's seasoning salt, and pepper, pan fried in olive oil, with garlic mashed potatoes.

Home made Brats and store bought ranch beans.

Washing em down with a little George Dickel and watching Live PD.

I like the ranch beans that have jalapeño.

I buy something different every time....I like em all.....well cept for the ones in that black can that just says "Ranch Style Beans" on it....those things are terrible.

Fried catfish sliced thin then coated with cornmeal seasoned with salt, pepper and some crawfish boil seasoning. Sides of hush puppies, soft fried potatoes with onions and pinto beans.

We love stuffed peppers. I usually do them in the pressure cooker though.

Real good lookin brisket there.

Fresh made meat mixture. Cooked them in the oven upper middle so peppers are close to the inside top of oven. 450 with a little water in bottom of dish, dont let run dry. I wanted more char but the wife didnt so out they came.

I made them years ago on the grill in a cast iron skillet.

The brisket is black because of all the sugar?
