Anyone have a Tikka Battue Rifle ? Or can give me opinions on it? I can’t find much out there on this model.

There was a few here in Canada a couple yrs ago but most were synthetic stocked. They did offer walnut but none to be found. I looked. I think it would be a perfect deer rifle in 308 with a 1.5-5 in walnut.

I have only seen one, and it was at a dealer. I agree with SuperCub, but Tikka really liked them. Any of the Tikka$ other than standard is awful expen$ive.
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!

I don't have a Tikka, but do have two Sako Battues...one in 308 and one in 7-08. For woods hunting, they're just the handiest little rifle. Great for tree stands, barrel doesn't bump snow down your back when slung over a shoulder, and just nice to point. I outfitted both with German #4 reticles to find in low light and thick stuff.
I wouldn't expect the Tikkas to be much different.
Only downside would be an insignificant loss of fps, and a bit more muzzle blast with the short barrel. Well worth the trade.

Unless you really want the cheap gimmicky fibre optic type open sights, just take a standard T3 and lop 2” off the barrel and you have a Battue.
I’ve done that with a stainless T3x in 308 and it’s a great short, handy woods rifle and it’s even more accurate than before.

If Montana had a standing army, a 270 Win with Federal Blue Box 130's would be the standard issue.
