I was going to order some bullets today. They were $24.49 a box. For an order of $49 or more I could get free shipping. 2 X 24.49 is $48.98, right? 2 cents short! So when I called the order in, I asked the guy if he was going to charge me shipping for being .02 short of $49. He said, "yes". For two cents? I know it's a gimmick, and others do it too. They want you to increase your order by offering you free shipping. And in this case, it almost worked too. I was only going to order one box of bullets at .$24.49, but decided to order two if I could get free shipping, since I could always use the bullets. I told the guy he could even charge me the two extra cents, and he said 'no'. I know that's the way it works, but...…………………………….come on! For two cents they lost an order? They would of made more than two cents profit off of that order. I said, 'well, you just lost a customer. Have a good day." Sorry, I just think that was ridicules. Ok, I feel better now that I've vented. You all have a good day..

BTW: I later found the same bullets for $18.99 on line. Ordered two boxes, and even with shipping, was $6 ahead. Sorry Larry Potterfield.

Throw in something cheap like a cleaning jag or bag of cleaning patches and you are home free. It could still be a great deal.

I wouldn’t be sorry for Larry. I think he’s doing ok.

I've come up a few cents short on those type deals when ordering on line. Then I can always find something small and inexpensive that I need anyway; even if not right now. At least I'll get the deal.

I'm very much aware that I could of bought another cheap item to make the purchase go over $49, and that's also part of their gimmick too, and I'm going to bite on that either. I refuse. And, nothing against Larry. I think he's a great guy. A class act.

Amazon sometimes has low priced items as 'add ons'. They only sell at that price if you buy so much of other stuff. My wife needed some Dremel diamond drill bits that are normally about $6 each for $2 each as ad ons. To them at that price, I needed to find something else I needed for $49 or more.

Two idiots were on that phone call.

The first idiot couldn't figure out that 2x$24.99 = $49.98 .98 more than needed for free shipping.

The second idiot didn't tell the first idiot that he was an idiot and then put the order through as is, shipped free.

Your post is somewhat confusing, let me see if I got this; You wanted $49 free shipping, but came up $.02 short, and was ticked off that they wouldn't break their own rules in your favor, so you told them they lost a customer. Does that about cover it?
Oh, and you think they are great anyway, and then you went somewhere else and got what you needed anyhow.
Wow, cool...

Back in the 1990s I would stay up late searching for a deal on bullets.... with the old dial up connection.

Now I am so old I pay no attention to price, just delivery times. I want to get the bullets before I forget why I ordered them.

You really need to invest in a Calculator. Also go find your math teacher and punch them in the face for not teaching you basic math..
