I bought a new Leupold FX-II 4x33 scope and sighting it in has taken some getting used to. The adjustment turrets claim 1/4 MOA adjustments but every adjustment moves twice that. 4 clicks move the crosshairs 2" at 100 yards. Seems to be a good scope otherwise but with half moa clicks it's hard to get properly dialed in. I have never seen a Leupold do this. Heck I've never seen a Tasco move so far per click.

I remember some of the Burris Fullfields were 1/2" adjustment. I don't know about Leupold though.

Sunds like something might be amiss...

That being said, if all my 1/4 MOA scopes were to magically to go 1/2 MO adjustments I sure wouldn't be sad.

I've always been of the opinion that Leupold is a bit optimistic in their claims of movement per click on their VXII line anyway.

I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all.

A malfunctioning or otherwise *sketchy* Leupold. Who could have seen that coming?

The old Redfield Accutrac elevation turret was a half inch per click.

The last Leupold 4x33 that I had moved about 1/3" per click. The Weaver K4x38 that I sighted in the same day moved 1/4" per click as advertised.

Honest question. Is this happening at 50 yards or 100 yards? I believe that Leupold clicks are 1/4 unless I am mistaken.

If your 1/4moa turrets are giving 1/2” at 100 it’s bad. If they’d are doing it at 50 it’s even worse.

Welcome to the world of Leupold, my 4x does the same thing. My 6x wont respond to an adjustment until after you shoot, fun times chasing that around. Makes a person question their sanity......

Might want to try one of the Leupold fakes off Ebay. Maybe it would be a bit better and only set you back $70 or so.

If it is dependably adjusting the same amount every adjustment, your scope is more predictable than a couple dozen Leupys I’ve had the last 30 years (vari-II, vari-x III, VX 3 and 3i). I will say that once sighted in, most have reliably held zero. At the VX3i price point, I’ve switched to Nikon Monarchs which have had predictable adjustments and held zero.
