I have a set of the 5.5mm square link chains for both my Tacoma and F150. I have 265/75/16's on the Tacoma and 265/70/18's on the Ford. They are rated for both mud and snow and fit close tolerances. I've used them on Tacoma, but have not had the need to use them on the Ford yet The tires on the Tacoma are 1" taller and same width as factory, The F-150 tires are 1" taller and 1/2" narrower than factory. I'd not want to run them on the front of either vehicle.
https://www.tirechain.com/Truck-Tire-Chains.HTMAnother option, and one I'm going to explore is to use wheel spacers to move the wheels out about 1". Aftermarket wheels will do the same thing. I'm not yet convinced that either option is a good one. But that would make it possible to run chains on all 4 corners.
A 245/75/17 is only about 3/4" narrower than a 265/70/17. About 3/8" more room on the inside. But that could be enough to matter.
