I've been a trap shooter since 1971 and the best auto that I've ever had was a Berretta 390 Parrallel Target. It has a straight line stock that really puts you on target fast. Recoil is minimal with this stock design as the stock has virtually no drop at the comb. Add a kick-eeze recoil pad and a Briley light full or improved modified exstended chock tube and a Tru-glow front bead and you're ready to go.

Concur with fubarguy on the A390 Parallel Target if you can find one. Other options, while not all Beretta include the Rem 1100 Competition, Fabarm XLR5 Velocity and the Beretta A400 Multi-Target.

I just checked the Beretta website. They have a new version of the parallel target called the A400 Excel parallel target. It has all the features of the 390 and then some. Good recoil pad, chokes, sights, and recoil reduction system. Check the website,

If she hasn’t already done so, the next level comes from structured lessons from a good trap coach.

You'll find as many nay sayers regarding the 1100 as you those that praise it. I've had a couple of 1100s for a number of years and have had no issues. One of my 1100 has over 15K skeet doubles to its name. Treat them and maintain them as tool, and they will last a lifetime.

A local club that is host to a number off high school shooters bought 5 of them to use as 'house guns', 2 or 3 yrs ago. They get used by everyone, young and old, novices and on up, day in and day out. Haven't heard any complaints.

Not bad info here until he recommended a truglow front sight bead. If you are seeing that, you aren't seeing the target as you should be. !00% focus at the shot needs to be on the clay! Others may suggest a Hinged gun and that isn't bad either.

The fabarms l4s sporting is worth taking a look at. I have been shooting 1 for about 8 months and am pretty pleased with it. Here is a link to there female specific model.
