Anyone tried the new rl 26 powder with .270? Preferably 140gr
It's the hunt, not the kill.

A number of threads have covered this.
I would suggest a search.

My pre-64 M70 featherweight preferred 61.0g of RL26 pushing a 140g Nosler AB. Half inch groups. 2,980 FPS out of a 22" barrel. I had room to push it a little faster, but that was the sweet spot for accuracy.

It works wonders with 150 grain bullets in a 270.

My 24” factory barreled Win Model 70(270 win.) likes this load:
Bullet: 140gr Nosler AccuBond Powder: Reloader 26(61.5gr....max for my rifle) Brass: Winchester Primer Fed. 215 match(magnum primer) OAL = 3.280” Velocity = 3,185 fps(chronographed) Accuracy = 3 shot into 0.53” @ 100 yds
Rifle sports a McMillan stock(action glass bedded w/free floated barrel). Tuned trigger breaks clean at 3.0 lbs.
Switching from Fed. 210 match primers to 215 match Mag primers shrunk groups from 1.0” to almost 0.5”
I’m happy,
Leftybolt

I pretty sure M1Garand has played with it some and has run it through his chrony as well. He has run it in QL and checked it against the chrony for comparison. Seems to do well and I have hijacked a lot of his load data with good results. Might want to give him a bump.

The skin around the chest and neck area can go over 1/4" thick and I have shot an awful lot over 200 pounds, so they were great for testing bullets and loads. Killed them with .22Mag, .222, .223, .22/250, .243, .240 Wby, .25/06, .257 Wby, .270, .270 Wby, 6.5x55, 7x57, 7mm Rem, .30/06, .300 Win Mag, .338 Win Mag, .340 Wby, .338/378 Wildcat, .375 H&H, .416 Rem Mag, .416 Wby, .45/70, .458 Win Mag, .460 Wby with multiple bullets weights in each. Very fun.........

I,m using 61.0 gr of RL26 Gave 3064fps in my Sako A7. Used 140gr Accubonds and Winchester cases at 3.280 OAL. RL23 gave 3050fps with Trophy Bonded Tipped 140gr. but was more accurate.

No question RL26 will give highest velocity, but RL23 and Norma MRP are more accurate in my rifles. I use RL23 with the Trophy Bonded Tipped and MRP with the 150gr Nosler Partitions. Last week Trophy Bonded Tipped 160gr 7mm Mag shot clear thru chest of Moose at 239 yards. First time out with that bullet.
