Has anybody tried Ramshot True Blue or Hogdon's Longshot for the 45 with 200 and 230 gr jacketed bullets?
I know we have a ton of powders for the 45, but this would simplify keeping powder inventory, a major consideration in this day of powders costing like gold dust.

Thanks, guys.

I have worked with True Blue some. I don’t have access to my results handy, but will share later. Might be tomorrow.

Based on your question about using Longshot in the .45 ACP, I would suggest you look at the July 2017 issue of Shooting Times. Dr. Brad Miller had an article "Fast Loads for the .45 ACP" using Ramshot Enforcer. He claims velocities over 1000 fps with 230 bullets AND safe standard pressure. I know that this isn't one of the two powders list but...

I finally found some Enforcer at Sportsman's and want to give it a try. However, too many irons in the fire... Guess it will be a spring project.

Good luck!

I've also got good accuracy and speed with 800X and 230's.

We may know the time Ben Carson lied, but does anyone know the time Hillary Clinton told the truth?

I use Longshot for 45acp and 9mm - mainly because it is leftover from my shotgun reloading days. It works well. I tend to run it hot in 45acp, so ymmv if you want put-put loads.

For the 45 Auto, Longshot is in the same category as Blue Dot, Power Pistol, AA7, and Silhouette - good for high powered loads, but not ideal for light or mid-range loads. Any of those powders can be made to work for light loads of course, but there are better choices. For powerful loads, they are outstanding.

I have not worked with True Blue.
