I drive a 1995 Crew Cab Ford F-350. This baby has a 7.3 liter Powerstroke Turbo diesel with an automatic tranny, 8' bed and 4x4. I use this truck for everything especially luggin all my gear to the family ranch for an overnight stay or two. What do you use for your trips off the beatin path.

I have been lookin at an 06 Dogde Mega Cab. This thing is a 3/4 ton with 4x4 a Cummins Turbo, the off road package and the navigation system. Kelly blue book is over $50,000, but the local dealers are desparate to get rid of last year's stock so they are sellin them dirt cheap! They only want $35,000 for it. I am thinkin about payin half and the other half from my family as a birthday present.

My truck is where my mid-life crisis becomes evident. This truck will (and has) destroy a Mustang GT in a drag race as well as spin the tires into wheel hop. On one hand I think I need traction bars, but on the other I don't think I need to acclerate that hard. Decisions, decisions..... grin

Mine's a 2006 Dodge CTD, 3/4 ton, 4WD. It hauls my 10 foot Lance Camper and pulls my 2000 Jeep Wrangler. Usually I use the Wranger for off roading. Much easier to get around in, to get into tight spots, etc. E

Jump on it! The '06 is the last pre-smog diesel, also they've gone to an electric switch for 4wd vs the manual lever, which is a step backwards IMHO. With the '06, pull the lever back and you are in 4wd. With the electric switch you have to shift in/out neutral and some other hocus pocus, it wouldn't go in on the fly when I test drove an '07, and when you need 4wd you need it now, not eventually.
