I have an older Belgium made A5 20 Magnum. Love the shotgun, but it has a 28” bbl and a full choke. Don’t want to put steel through it, so it limits waterfowl loads. The long bbl and full choke ain’t my first choice for quail either.
My question is, is there a 26” barrel available for it that utilizes screw in chokes and GTG for steel shot?

You guys are nuts! All that time and money to gain two inches? Take the 28 inch barrel to a smith and have the choke opened up.

fubargy, good idea but only if you don’t want to shoot steel. I bought a Japan screw choke gun for my old Belgium lightg12. It is my duck gun on the few duck hunts that I make.

I'm going to do some searching for a Japan made Auto 5 barrel, would be cheaper than buying a new autoloader for the little bit of duck hunting I do.

I think Midwest Gun Works has a few barrels. Check their website.

FWIW- I called Arts gun shop, He told me my best bet was to open up the choke if I wanted to run steel. Replacement barrels for 20ga 3” receivers are not common and quite expensive.
Mogc- thanks for the idea. No 3” barrels available though.
I think I’ll just keep an eye out and hope to find one for a reasonable price.

Might put the word out over on Shotgunworld and see what it brings you.

I had an older A-5 barrel cut back and threaded for removable choke tubes. It was cheaper than buying another barrel, just an idea. I sent the barrel to a smith who advertises on fleabay, turned out fine.
