Riding the bale sled, I once grabbed a 60 lb bale strings withe the left, sunk the bale hook in with the right and started to pivot to stack the bale behind me when I noticed about 8 inches of rattle snake tail hanging out the side. The bale landed about 30 feet away. We never did find the front half.
Rattlers were rare in central ND, but not rare enough!

Richard—the bear in the corn head in Wisconsin a few years ago was huge—like 600lbs huge—I heard it stalled the combine.
