Yesterday I was talking to a coworker about possibly selling him a revolver I have that isn’t being used and likely won’t be used, I made the off hand comment that I might trade it for something and he told me he has a like new Remington 700 xcr2 in 375HH that’s just been sitting in his safe. I already have a Weatherby Vanguard dangerous game 375 and a kimber talkeetna 375 but for some reason I’m sort of intrigued by this Remington.

I guess these were built to handle extreme weather conditions which is perfect for where I live, surprisingly though, in all my years of hunting, I’ve never come across or known anybody who had an xcr or xcr2, I’m guessing this gun is severa years d since it seems like they don’t make it, the stock is. Ore or less a basic green plastic stock with some softer panels but still just a basic stock iron sights are standard Remington which is fine.

Does anybody have one of these rifles or know anybody who does??? Like I said I wasn’t really in the market for a rifle or another 375 but for some reason this rifle has my attention. Also, I already have some Talley bases for a Remington and a 1.5-5x20 with Talley quick releases just sitting here.


Thoughts???

I had the first Remington 700xcr in 270wsm. Has a tough finish and never showed signs of rust or pitting. Used it to hunt the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. The Remington 700xcrII I believe is a the same coating but in a matt blued finish. Rifle was very accurate. I sold it because I lost interest in the 270wsm cartridge. I would get it, but I have my 375 Ruger Guide Gun.
