LGS owner obtained one and it's literally 99% mint.. Only thing missing is the front bead. My question is: what bead did these come with? White ivory? Steel? (?)??? I want to install one that matches the original, but every M21 I've seen has everything under the sun for a front bead.. Help....

This is a solid-rib shotgun, 30" barrels, single-sel. trigger, S/N 16XXX, if that makes any difference..

Don't know if it's for sale or not... But if someone's really interested in buying one (and this one's a beauty) PM me and I'll give you the name/number to call..

As many Winchester early 1886s, Model 71s, m-70s-- and MANY Model 12s, including 2 heavy duck guns- I own- there is only one really serious 3 inch double gun:
The AH Fox 3 in HE Super Fox-Philadelphia-Chromox Barrels Used by Nash Buckingham. Mine will out shoot and out range any other goose or duck gun chambered in 3 inch 12 GA.
Khe Sanh-71 MACVSOG 5th Special Forces Gp (ABN)

450,
Nice gun.
I must ask - What inspired the above In a thread about a front bead on a model 21? Even for the ‘fire, that was one hell of a redirect.
As an aside, if you do in fact own bo whoop, I’d love to hear about it - I’d suggest a new thread with pictures.
If not, you and Cpl Austin need to get together and compare notes :-)

Reminded of the story that came from O'Connor or Keith: John Olin supposedly grew tired of other American doubles taking "market share" on shotguns in the 1920s-30s. He decided to do something about it. The Model 21 is a nice shotgun.
But it will never catch up to a Parker AAHE, an LC Smith pre-1913 special, or an AH Fox Super Fox or XE Special pre-war Krupp steel Philadelphia gun. Just my .02. Mine is a 1924 straight stock Super chambered in 3in. Great duck and goose gun.
