Does one need to take any other steps to form 338federal from 308win brass other than running it through a sizing die? Does it need to be stepped or can it be done in one pull? Thanks James

That may depend on the expander being used.

I make 358 Win from 308 using RCBS dies in one pull.
When I die I hope I don't start voting democrat.

I've made a bunch of long taper expander plugs by turning down bolts, including a large one that I can expand 7mm and .300 RUM cases up to .375 RUM in one push. A little Imperial size wax in the case mouth helps.

No problem for me to make my 338/08 from 308 brass, just one pull on my press.
