In this good read, retired LAPD detective Hieronymous "Harry" Bosch and current detective Renee Ballard are thrown together investigating an old 'Hobby Case' that's bugged Bosch for years. A young girl was kidnapped off the street, raped and killed and soaked in bleach then dumped in the street. It's bugged Harry and he still wants to find out who did it. During his investigation- as a reserve officer for a small force near LA-- other cases pop up and are part of the book. It's pretty typical Connelly. A very good read and one that you don't want to end too soon.
I'd recommend it.

I have read/listened to all the Connelly offerings except "The Poet" and the first Renee Ballard offering. Perhaps I should read it as the comments about the narrator caused me to skip it. I enjoyed the audiobook. Nothing outstanding, but kinda like slipping into a comfortable pair of ones favorite footgear, it works. ya!

As a Coda, just finished the latest Daniel Silva novel, "The Other Woman". I think that one affected me more than any other Silva novel since "A Death in Vienna".
Has anyone listened to the latest Reacher novel, "Past Tense". Seems Dick Hill who IMHO is "Reacher" has retired and Scott Brick has taken over the narration/
If so, your thoughts.

I've read "Past Tense". It was a bit different- certainly from what I expected, although it's a bit hard to have specific 'expectations' about the Reacher books. It was worth reading. But, i haven't listened to any of these books and imagine the readers could change the book's impact quite a bit.
