Darn near anything that is said to shorten a proper term,
or an attempt to be cool.

And I never have felt the need to shoot lights, or dimes.

"I took a sound shot!" - some Bubba puts his rifle on his hip and cranks one into the woods because "he heard something". Always claims that he hit a deer "but couldn't find it".

Had a friend that used to talk about his "old two pipe". And a Talley Wacker used to be a Muskie bait make over in Wisconsin. Good surface lure.

Some day I need to tell the story of my old hunting partner. He used to start talking about taking sound shots to those who didn't know him when ever he wanted to thin some of the hunters out of his neck of the woods.
His name was Norman and he had a big red nose to match his brown brandy bottle in his back pocket full of water.

When self-proclaimed "experts" use ballistic/projectile information incorrectly - most common is SD - sectional density (not Standard Deviation which is a term related to statistics and useful for evaluating velocity consistency).

So, the phouck-tard wanna-be expert presumes that SD is the end-all, be-all measurement for determining a given bullets effectiveness on game (as if the dimensional relationships actually determine rigidity of a projectile..... they sorta forgot that rigidity of a projectile is primarily determined by it's materials and construction...duh).

And nearly as bad is when they concoct relationships between terms like BC - ballistic coefficient, SD, and presume those dreamed-up relationships actually have some "real-world" basis in fact....when they obviously do not....

Also, prideful old gits who think they know something, but actually forgot most of what they larned 30 years ago and blend the rest into some strongly-held scientific treatise based on empirically determined physics (resulting in wanton self-reflection.....like right now. ugh).

Not big on naming deer, there are however, exceptions I believe.

Had a buck around where I hunt we tried to kill for YEARS...eventually started calling him "Old Frosty Nuts"(not sure who came up with that name). Found him(or what we assumed was him) dead in a fence row squirrel hunting, apparently of old age, not a mark on him.

I also find it funny when people say deer are hard to kill, the big, smart ones can be hard to spot. It does not however, take a howitzer with a 20x scope to kill them.
