Was at gunshow here in Alaska few yrs ago. I spied a pre 64 for $795 bucks I'm like damn that's cheap. I assumed it been drilled and tapped for side mounts nope. By this time I thought I found the deal of the century I saw 22 hornet stamped on it, then saw another stamp on 222 remington. I was like wtf... so went bought some gun show jerky and left.
Then STFU. The rest of your statement is superflous bullshit with no real bearing on this discussion other than to massage your own ego. Suckin' on my titties like you wanted me.

I ran into one of those Model 70 .22 Hornet/.222 rechambers at a Cabelas a few years ago. I went from "Oh yeah!" to "aw sheet" in 5 seconds. It was prices around $600 IIRC

Had the fore end reshaped on my Pre War 375 H&H. It had that angular 70s look "jutting chin" look before:

Every one of these has been beautiful. I have 2 model 70's left a Stealth in .308 from 2005 and a Featherweight Stainless in .243 from 2012.

Was at the shop yesterday where I was formerly employed. The boss had several consignment Model 70’s on hand. Im not a model 70 kinda guy but one was interesting to me. A Featherweight .358. Dunno the price. Didn’t ask. Also a nice old Hornet that was still a Hornet.
Just throwing it out.

A Featherweight .358 if original, well, you best take out a loan to buy it.

This is probably my favorite rifle thread on this site, time to contribute to it. First is a Supergrade 300 RUM Second is a 90's 300 WM in a Brownpounder Last is a early 2000's 7mm WSM in a Mcmillan Supergrade pattern stock.

I have a safe full of Winchester model 70s, only one is a pushfeed, a 1967 heavy barrel 22-250. The rest are a mix of Classics and new FN production. I do have two Pre64, though. First up is a 1954 270 Sporter Next is a 1961 264 WM Sporter I also have a 1951 30-06 barreled action with a corroded barrel. I believe that will be used for a 280 AI project next year. Kansan

The trip-wired safe has pre-64 M-70s from 270 through 375 H&H, with stops in between for some lovely one-offs. Years ago obtained a beautiful custom 35 Whelen with Super Grade faux stock. All custom including reboring and rechambering. Came-bought from Idaho and the owner said, you can send it back...but you won't be sending it back once you carry it and hunt with it. Never returned it as it was too nice. Same with an identical '06 taken out to 338-06, one of the better wildcat cartridges resembling Keith's 333 OKH. This one is equipped with a Lyman Alaskan and an early original Super Grade stock. Original barrel
You might consider the 338-06... Kansan.... with a re-bore re-rifling rechamber. You probably will not look back........will handle anything from coyotes to moose, even a grizzly was taken by one of the Nosler bullet reps.with the 338-06.
