Any of you good folks here cook on a full size slide in induction range with oven ?

I recently bought a small single burner induction appliance and have to say it's the cats whiskers when compared alongside the glass cook top abomination currently occupying my small galley. Loving the cool cooking surface temp and the speedy time to cook temps.

I went through this recently and decided gas was the better option due to it's versatility. You can add the small appliance induction burner and save money. You also aren't limited in the cookware you can use.

If you don't have a gas hookup, then induction all the way.

We got one when we remodeled our kitchen. Wife says she loves it. Cooks great but main thing she likes is the ease of cleaning.

Care to share the make / model ?

It's a Bosch. Flex I think. Downside is all your cookware has to be iron or steel. Has to be able to be attracted to magnet. So, no copper,tin or alloy.

We wanted one when we remodeled, due to our favorable use of a portable one during the remodel. But they don't come with an induction top and double ovens, which was what my wife wanted more than the induction. So, glass-top electric it was. (I wanted gas. I lost.)

We thought about an induction unit a few years ago when we needed to replace the range....but, as others have stated, you may need to invest heavily in new cookware just to use it.. There are 'combos', and I thought about that too.. Finally decided on a 5-burner glass top; 3 of which have expanding elements to accommodate different sizes of pans..

There are stand-alone 2-burner induction units that are interesting. Might be just the thing for the times when a large group is over for vittles...and/or one needs some portability..

I just finished our remodel and we bought a Kitchen Aid 30-Inch 4-Element Induction Double Oven Convection Range to replace our smooth top electric and absolutely love it. The induction heating is amazing, very precise and it's easy to maintain temps.

We used our cast iron and one single pot we bought at WalMart while researching cookware. We ended up buying made in USA AllClad 5 ply Copper Core expensive but worth it.

Nope. I prefer gas.

WE have had 2 Induction cook top over last 15 years. First came with the house, it was a GE. Worked great for quite a while, but I think it was about 17 years old
when we replaced it. Cooked great, and wife loved white cook top, easy to clean. Could no find white cook top in our price range, so got black. It is
a little harder to clean. By the way It,s a Samsung. Problem is the temperature controls are very hard to adjust. They are touch controls like a I-Phone.
Some time they go up when you want to go down,and other times they down when you want to go up. Drives both of us crazy. Other wise cooks good.
Much better than a electric stove, and cooks fast. Gas is cheaper to use here. I would by a different brand next time. but still by induction.
