I joined this site last October after leaving a similar site that didn't allow any "political" discussion at all. All the other good things that the 24Hour has to offer were over there, just not political stuff. As I was passionate about my political views, I was looking for a change. I thought I had found it here, but I was wrong. Some of the members here are so full of hateful crap against a variety of targets that I no longer desire to associate myself with this site. I can find all the outdoors stuff I want elsewhere. Same goes for intellectual political discussion. I can join into political discussions at a dozen "conservative" sites as well as 2 or 3 "liberal" ones to keep my finger on the pulse of america. I don't need to put up with reading all the other extraneous crap that flies around here.

It seems every great thread deteriorates down the wormhole. The "Omaha Steak" thread was my final last straw. Typical pattern, starts out informative but quickly deteriorates into homophobic bullshit with stuff folks think is funny and clever. Get a life man! I wasn't raised to accept hateful crap or bullying from anyone, and I raised my 2 daughters the same way. This is not a site that I could tell them that I was a proud member of. I think this site needs to do some deep soul searching. Good luck with that!

I'm quite sure you can find any number of leftist web sites which prohibit "hate speech".

You could just say the same thing about society in general and bury your head in the sand. You have to be as smart as an old cow. Eat the hay and spit out the sticks. lots of great folks here that would give you the shirt off their own back if they thought you needed it.

There's nothing wrong with different opinions,even if they are hateful to your mindset. You can always ignore the crazies,and find out why the hateful are so hateful.

Most of the regular old fuggs on this site either hate or are afraid of just about everything. Nothing new.

Or,..you may find out that it's not "hate" at all. It just a negative reaction from aware people who don't appreciate forced, subliminal indoctrination.

Hate and phobic are terms used to put a negative spin on distaste or dislike expressed in a contrary opinion.
