I have been looking for a picatiny rail for my sako 75. I have found one up in Canada made by near mfg. has anyone tried one of these rails. They are press fit over the existing mounts on the sako action. There are no screws to hold it on or mount it in place. Has me a little skeptical. I must say the fit and finish of the product does look nice and is appealing, just not sure if the rail will stay in place. opinions wanted

Thanks ahead of time!

I used to run Near Mfg. rails on my Sako 75's.... but I had the action drilled and tapped, then screwed it down to the action.

A good gunsmith can do this very easily for you for around $75 - $100.

Murphy Precision does not list a rail for the Sako 75, but their list of actions has the following message at the bottom:

"Please contact us if you don't see what you need above. We strive to keep our site current, but we may have additional models or variants that haven't been listed."

It may be worth giving them a call, because I have found their titanium rails to be of excellent quality. I just wish they still made rings.

I cannot imagine a better overall product for the Sako 75. Very well thought out, streamlined piece of artwork

The rails from Near Mfg. are pretty low where as the rails from Murphy Precision are taller....just something to consider!!

I have been looking quit hard at the near mfg rail. I did talk with the owner and they only press fit these rails. He does not recommend using any screws to lock in place, the rail will just wedge or press fit into place.
