From the SN provided, the gun is not a takedown.
There is a noticeable difference in the ,250 and .300 rotors. But, there's a good chance the .250 will pass .300 cartridges. I'd try it before swapping. My mistake. I thought TD entered into the conversation somewhere but I guess I was wrong.

That one is a real head shaker alright You're right about the cartridge guide as well. But I know a guy who has all that stuff to swap out, so it can be done.

I thought it was a head shaker too. On top of the front sight being the obvious problem that it is (for originality), somehow it seems reblued to me. But thats just a hunch - a head shaking hunch.

I think in the end relining a barrel will cost more than a new barrel, now reboring is cheeper.

I believe that a 99 with a .30-30 based action could be relined to .25-35 or .219, since I've seen both done on other actions. You just would need to find a smith who does relines, and yes, they aren't cheap. Don't know if either of these would work on a .30-06 case head-based action like a .250 without major surgery, tho.
If you want to try it with a .25-35, .22 Hi-Power, .303, or .30-30 with a trashed bore, PM me and I'll put you in touch with a smith in Indiana who might take it on.

Mike Armstrong aka Mesa As of now, if it can't be lined, it will get a new barrel. Thanks
