Just watched an interview on Fox with Gowdy. Regardless of your view of him, he was the best interrogator the GOP had in Congress. He said he will never run for office again. Our loss, as he was one of the fairest people on the hill at a time when fairness could not be tolerated.

Principles and objectivity while following the constitution is a rare commodity. Too bad for us and the country that politicians are generally speaking some of the least principled among us.

He went on to say that lady justice was supposed to be blindfolded alluding that Comey and the FBI under him ... not so much.

Gowdy truly knows the stench that is DC.

He probably just can't take any more of the sewer that is DC.

Helluva inquisitor, lousy prosecutor. I think he got a good close look at the corruption of DC and wanted out.

We finally elected a good, strong President and Gowdy, Issa, Chaffetz and several others bailed on us when they were much needed to support the President. A chicken crap move that has much disappointed me!

Did he ever have evidence, or is that even a requirement?

My thought is he was not able to stomach or fathom the depth of the corruption. His sense of fairness paralyzed him in such a cesspool where every direction you turn is deceit and self promotion. He learned to not trust anyone and could find few allies.

Trump is in the same boat, but is a fighter that is less virtuous, just what we need to bust it up. Gowdy and Trump want the same thing but I am sure Trump will be more effective.

Too bad those guys didn't stand strong with Trump from day one. They could have been a force and accomplished so much more. So much opportunity wasted and most likely to never to gain that momentum again.

They probably had seen enough of how D.C works that they thought Trump would be consumed by the beast. They know now they misjudged Trump's determination to MAGA.

Makes me wonder if the Obama surveillance machine found a little dirt on some of these people who've suddenly decided to retire.

Probably not much but if they did they're having a hard time explaining how they got the info without raising suspicion. Obama never seemed reluctant to use the surveillance tools at his disposal.

He never moved the speedometer an inch for Trump. Always more a slow plodding nemesis than an ally. He helped waste 2 years of a rare Republican majority while allowing and participating in this senseless Mueller witch hunt to suck up millions upon millions of taxpayer dollars in a climate of scarce resources. Never took a damn thing to the finish line. Him, and that pos Ryan and his liberal wife.
