A LGS has a lightly used Lefty 700 in 30-06. I'm considering it for my son to take to CO next fall for elk. He uses a lefty 257 Roberts for deer, but I'm not sure if I want him to use it for elk. The step up to 30-06 would cost $750.

Not sure on the price but they can be fairly tough to find. I'd pay that if I were in the market.

I've been trying to do online checks, but I'm not sure of the exact series. I know it's not the newer SPS, it looks more like the classic with a jeweled bolt. Comes with a Leupold VX2.

The only LH stainless 700 rifle Remington produced outside of the custom shop was the LSS series(grey laminate wood stock). I’m guessing the rifle in question here is an LSS barreled action sitting in a take off synthetic stock. I believe Remington’s custom shop produced a stainless lefty in their KS(Kevlar stock) series briefly. Either rifle(LSS or KS) in 30.06 is fairly rare. Most of these stainless lefty’s you see are 300 Win Mag, 300 Ultra Mag or 7mm Rem Mag. Occasionally a 270 Win will show up.

If it is in good condition(which it sounds like it is) with the Leupold scope included $750 is certainly a fair price and probably a steal!!!

I really wish Remington would pull their heads out of their butts and produce some left hand stainless rifles in the STS series. If they did, they’d probably have a hard time keeping them on the shelves.....as long as they don’t chamber them in the Ultra Mag calibers.🤔

If you decide not to buy the rifle from your original post, and want a rifle with a stainless receiver and barrel, I've got a left handed stainless model 700 LSS chambered in .30-06 that I'd sell for $800 plus shipping cost. The rifle looks like new, except for a blemish at the front end of the stock. I bought it used a few years back and have never fired it. Was planning on using it for an elk rifle, but have since bought something different. PM me if you'd like to see some pictures or get more info.

Sounds like it might be a 700 XCR. I have a LH in 30-06. It has a black with grey on the grip and fore end synthetic stock. Also had one in 7mm at one point that I purchased new. can't recall the year but seems like it was maybe 10 years ago or so I bought the new one.

If it is the XCR $750 is a good price. they went for that new.
