I came across a bottle of Very Very Old Fitzgerald Bonded 12 year old. It has been sitting in a closet at my parents house for 30 or 40 years. It is in a leather presentation box, silk lined with two shot glasses. The seal label says distilled in spring 1951 and bottled fall 1963. The label carries the signature of one Julian P. Van Winkle, Senior Proprietor. Haven’t opened it yet...I guess after 55 years there is no rush. What should I expect?

If this is comparable to prices on Pappy Van Winkle, with yours' pedigree I would expect $3-5k value to some fool.
What a cool find

Sell it. It's good bourbon I am sure, but for what you could sell it for you, can buy a lot of good bourbon and still have cash left over.

Heck of a find! I'm with the others though, I'd sell. Worth a small fortune to the right buyer if seal is unbroken. Get yourself a custom rifle and a case of decent booze.

Take a picture of it and show us for gods sake. Hurry. I don’t think I could open and drink a $5000 bottle of whiskey.

Woof! What a find!!! Nearly akin to winning the LOTTO.. Heck of a find! I'm with the others though, I'd sell. Worth a small fortune to the right buyer if seal is unbroken. Get yourself a custom rifle and a case of decent booze. For sure.........

I’ll supply the ribeyes! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I’d sell that schit in a heartbeat if some fool was willing to throw down $5k for it. Hell, anything over $1k and it’d be out the door!

Pray the cork is still in good condition.
To be clear, it's 55 year old 12 year old Bourbon. It's not 77 year old Bourbon.
Let someone pay you way too much for it.
