I cant tell from the picture is the rifle a heavy barrel or sporter? Give remington a call and they will tell you the date manufactured,1-800-243-9700 Mon-Fri 9-5 EST. It looks to be 1980's to early 90'S. I just saw a sporter in 222 rem sell at auction for $1350 which I thought was crazy, but there were 2 people there that just had to have it.

Just curious how anyone could put a value on it without any further information than the model and chambering and a poor picture? I have seen some of these in 222, both heavy and sporter barrel, that I would not have given $250 dollars for because of their condition. But I have seen others than that were "as new in the box" that have sold for around the $800 dollar mark. So my "real world" estimate is $250 - $800.

223 Rem, my favorite cartridge - you can't argue with truckloads of dead PD's and gophers.

600 to 800 easy in the condition you described.
Those who call magazines "clips" and cartridges "bullets" ought not to be taken seriously. Jeff Cooper. We might add those who call bullets "boolits.
