It just means more dies. Someone should convince me to get a 22 K-Hornet Contender barrel and leave the Handi alone. After all, this is a tactical Hornet.

I feel the k-hornet is more accurate over a regular hornet, grain in velocity maybe `100 fps or little more ? I have both but prefer k-hornet

I think I will ream the chamber in the new year. I am weeks away from completing a 225 and a 6x45mm. Both are bolt rifles. The third one is a charm. I like the idea of a K-Hornet better.Primariy because of making the brss last longer. A 225 Win from a 308 Savage. A 6x45mm from an Axis.

Steve, I would suggest you might want to have MGM build you a 22K hornet for your Contender. If you don't like it, you can spin it off and likely get most of your money back. Then you can ream your Handi-rifle out to a K hornet.

Steve, in my opinion, the K version is what the Hornet should have been to start. Mine loves Lil'gun and 40 gr V-max bullets. Very deadly on prairie dogs well beyond 250 yards, and does well on coyotes, also ( at a bit closer range ). I'd not hesitate to try a coyote at 200 yds, but would like to accomplish that before reaching out more. For some reason, every coyote I've hit with it has been at ~150 yards, or less . I hit an incoming coyote, almost directly head-on, once - turned him completely over, endways. Brass life is what I appreciate most, though -even more than the bit of added velocity (and range).

The more I learn about the K-Hornet, the more interested I am becoming.

I have decided to make it into a K-Hornet. I have a lot of 40 gr. VMaxes here and some other weights that would be fun to experiment with in the new year.

The Hornet is now a K-Hornet. I gave it to Rob Wise because he has the reamer. I have re-installed the scope. A Bushnell Elite 3200 3-10x40mm. If we get a day or two of decent temperatures, I'll fire form some cases.

Steve, I believe the Bushnell 3200 Elites are better scopes than what one would expect, given the cost. I've had several and still have some 4200 Elites, which are even better.

I have long been a supporter of Bushnell and Burris scopes. With the exception of specialized uses, these two brands do everything that hunters and shooters need.
Soap box time. From where I sit, I see people spending too much for scopes because they have to "keep up with the Joneses", to use an old expression. Some of these expensive scopes are attached to rifles that aren't used very much. Worse, a number of the owners do not even know how to use all the features of their scopes. Some people can afford them, but I often wonder how many people overextend themselves financially just so they will be seen with one. This last thing makes me sad.
There's no doubt that they are fine instruments, but...

Have an MGM barrel on a 22k Hornet Contender rifle and love it. Brass life has been good and loads of fun to shoot.
