Got the 99 RT 303 today. Nice looking shooter. It is currently wearing Weaver swing over mounts and rings. I will put a better scope than the Herters Sportview look a like. The little springs that "latch the swingovers are sprung. What height regular type rings would give me the same mount height as the swingovers? Merry Christmas to each of you.

One thing that was nice about those Weaver tip off mounts is that they put the scope in a very low line of sight.
I would think you would need a "low ring"

Depends on whether the scope has an objective bell and how big it is.

Depends on whether the scope has an objective bell and how big it is. That's a good point. Anything bigger than about a 33mm objective is not going to fit in a low mount.

A Stith mount will drop a K3 or K4 even lower if that's important. Granted they are harder to find.

I believe I have a pair of 99 tip-off mounts in good shape, if you'd like them, I'll dig 'em out and check their spring tension.

Thanks Jeff. Looks like they will be high enough for a Redfield TV scope or a Vari XII 3x9. Thanks a bunch.

Jeezus, bend the spring if it's sprung.

The original point and click interface was a Smith & Wesson.
