So I went to the Remington website and discovered I was correct, Remington 700 SPS rifles could be had in either stainless or blued finish. Just saying "correct" doesn't answer the question.

I hope that clears up any problems. It is not blue...it is black. I think the company calls it matte blue but it's really black. Hope that helps. powdr Last edited by powdr; 12/20/18.

Mine is the same barrel as the OP is trying to sell. I don't have a dog in this hunt, but I'd highly recommend this.
