I have been thinking about getting a 6-24x50 side PA Lightseeker from Doug at Cameraland, seems to have some good prices on them. I do have a new Nikon Monarch side focus on order but not sure if they will be available by the time I plan to go on my first pd shoot of the year. So...should I consider the Pentax or wait it out for the Nikon? Any of you ever used the Pentax? Thanks, TB

I have never had one, but they should be at par with the Burris Signature Scopes.

I thought that some of the lightseekers are FFII's and some are signature series. Could be wrong tho. I would cafefully compare specs so you know what your getting
I have currently have three of the Signature selects and one of the signature safari scopes and they are optically very nice scopes. A little heavy and don't have a Leupolds eye relief(except the sig safari which has decent eye relief) but their clarity and brightness is very good.

I was thinking the one I was wanting with the 30mm tube could be the same line as the Black Diamond. Looks allot like it. Anyone know for sure?

I have an older 3-9x39 light seeker. the light seeker smokes the burris, I know I have a few of them too. the bodies are very very similar but the glass is better in my 39mm pentax then in my 42mm burris.
I would not buy something that runs on any kind of primer given the possibility of primer shortages and even regulations. In fact, why not buy a flintlock? Really. Rocks aren't going away anytime soon.

My 4-16 is an excellent low light scope. Cannot speak to the one you are considering. Fishdoc/

What I know is Burris builds the Lightseeker here in teh US for Pentax using Pentax glass. I have been using Pentax glass in cameras since '68, and their technology is great especially considering the price. I also have Zeiss camera lenses, so I have something to compare them to.
I also compared the Lightseeker 3-9X40 to a Leupold 3-9X40, and the Pentax Lightseeker outscored the Leupold on points (15 to 5), both scopes at 6X.
I also have a Burris 4X Signature, but I did not compare it to the Lightseeker. Next time for sure.

HunterJim:
I guess you are comparing the Lightseeker 3-9 with the VXII Leupold. I THINK that you should of compared it to the Pentax PIONEER model which should be on the same category.
Shouldn't the Lightseeker be compared with the Leupold VXIII
