My step-son bought one for his daughter - the Ruger American Ranch. The barrel is rather short and it is LOUD! I went with a FoX Arms modified 450 on a .308 Savage platform and it is a shooter.

FyrepowrX Campfire Tracker F Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 3,576 Oklahoma	have one also; the 16" barrel...bought it on a whim when i found one cheap at a local shop, shoots pretty decently...recoil is livable, and as mentioned, muzzle blast is pretty intense. Have a 2x7 on mine presently; i shot assorted handloads in a lot of bullet weights, and it shot about everything decently well. did a home brewed camo job on it, i pack it around now & then, but no big kills... did shoot a couple of coons & a possum....one shot stopper... ============================================================
