We got a deal on a fresh turkey this week.
It's one of my favorite cheapie deals.
Just a little feller the yield was less than normal, but.
Boned the breasts out, vac sealed. One meal sliced fried breast meat.
Leg quarters vac sealed. One meal roasted on a bed of aromatics.
Wings, carcass, neck, and skin cooked with aromatics,cooled overnight, fat skimmed.
Tonight's supper?
Turkey rice soup.
Love those fresh turkeys on sale. $12 provides the meat to feed 4 people, three meals.
A bigger bird will make two breast meals and two roast leg meals.
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!

Tomato basil soup and grilled cheese sandwiches made with Tillamook Extra Sharp cheddar on sourdough. One of my favorite meals and an excellent choice in cheese. I just finished it. I don't have a name for it. I cubed up some venison roast and fried it in lard. I added some water, black beans, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and paprika. I brought it to a boil and added rice. Fifteen minutes later and with some Tabasco it was good eating.
