Not anymore. Cadillac, in their infinite wisdom, decided to stop offering manual transmissions in the CTS-V. Apparently Americans weren't buying them. Go figure!

Yep, while I’d love one they handle and stop like garbage compared to modern cars. I doubt there was a US production car made in the muscle car era that could hang with my humble little SVT Focus for anything other than straight line acceleration.

More inline with the OP, my aunt and uncle just bought a 2016 Mustang GT ragtop with the Coyote V8. It is an impressive machine for sure, light years ahead of their 04 GT it replaces. Not as much car as my bud’s Hellcat, but about 1/3 the price too. Never been in a new Camaro but I understand they are pretty hot, don’t care for the looks myself.

I've got a 17 Camero, 650 hp, 6 speed manual, 600 lb. torq, with 3:73 gears. Every time I get in it, I've got a ear to ear grin on my face.
That said, I park it in Nov., and won't be driving it again until March/April, depending on weather. It is absolutely helpless in snow.

So, if you live in snow country and decide to buy one, you better have another vehicle to drive!!

My ranch is located at 8000' elevation, and getting here involves handling a lot of mountain curves, exactly what the 6th gen Camaros
thrive on (spring/summer days only!!!).

Respects,
Richard

I know where to get you a used CTS-V with a couple upgrades putting it about 900HP for a decent price...

It was his daily driver for quite a while.

I'm just kinda wondering why the backseat is necessary.

But if you really need a backseat, maybe a nice big ol Caddy would be the ticket. Backseats are good for one thing only. IMO, of course.

Keep your 2006 GTO and throw money at it.

Then he let me drive it on the east bound Int 40 for awhile............The word awesome cannot properly describe this thing.

..........Vette was a thought of mine too. But I think the OP originally stated that he needed more interior room. Camaro was too cramped. Hence my idea of the Challenger Red Eye and b cuz of my driving experience with one......Quickest damn production 4500 lb car on the planet besides the Demon.

I'd say just pop for 4 doors, and get a recent Chevy SS. But apparently the ones with manuals are as rare as hen's teeth...

9 of them show up on Auto Trader though most of the prices are over $35K. This white one looks damned good: Chevy SS Manual

There is nothing like the sound of a Ford FE rumbling before you pound the skinny pedal and dump the clutch. That said, at 6'5" you may have an issue wit the smaller cars of the past. There is nothing that compares to the comfort of todays cars.

Of the ones you listed I'd pick the Challenger/Scat Pack.

Camp is where you make it.
