Weaver offered those a few years ago, as I recall. Both a 4x and a 3-9x--but made in the dimensions of the present 4x38 and 3-9s aluminum Weavers.

Roger that. Here's a 4x38 80th Anniversary Weaver. Nice scope.

The only blued steel Leupolds (modern era) that I know of are the Alaskans that were mentioned earlier. They were made in the 1990s and all fixed power 7/8" tubes with duplex reticles and came in 2.5x, 4x, and 6x.

Never seen a steel Leupold scope other than the above mentioned Alaskans, I bought my first Leupold in 1974 and have owned several over the years.

I've got a 4 power Leupold I got used on top a gun purchased...

Sent it to Leupold, to check out... they said it was fine, but they didn't carry parts for it anymore..

it was made in 1955, it seemed it was made out of Steel...

it looks like a 1 inch tube vs the 7/8th one mentioned above...

it was mounted in the old Weaver pair of steel strap over rings...

Hey all!

Leupold made a scope in 1990-1991 called the Alaskan, released to recreate an old Lyman scope that was popular in the 1940s. This was a fixed power scope that was available in 2.5x, 4x, and 6x versions. It featured a steel 7/8" maintube and Duplex reticle. Hope this helps!
