Need to scope my new Cz 457 American. This is a .17hmr.Its going to be a walking gun.Just for small game. Then for some plinking spinners, water bottles. Want to keep it simple. No big bell on the end.Two that I have in mind are a Sightron Si 4x12x20 or Weaver Grand Slam 2x8x36. What say you guys?
I'm a Sightron fan but have never cared for the SI. The Grand Slam is a nice little scope and can be had a for a great price. Some folks grumble about the occular bell's appearance.

Personally I would lean towards the Weaver. They are pretty good quality for the application. If it is going to be more of a walking rifle than target rifle, I prefer the lower power spectrum. Or even a fixed 4x possibly to keep it light and simple. I love those CZ rimfires!
Look for a cherry old gloss long tube M8 4X Leupold, it's what I have on my 22 Hornet, perfect imho.
Doesn't get much sleeker and simpler than that.
I have a US made Burris 6x40 on my 527, almost perfect. 6x36 Leupold would be just a bit better.

Within the past year, I’ve mounted two ordinary 3-9s on my 10/22 CSC (and some other sights too). The two 1” 3-9s turned out to be the best match. A Trijicon Accupoint 3-9 is on it now, to stay I think. Both it and the Burris FF II weigh about 13oz, and are slim and trim. The 100 yard parallax setting both have has not been a problem, and is probably better for your .17. The FF can be had for about $150’ the Triji is a lot more, but I don’t regret it.
Don’t let someone talk you into using a rail or other complicated ring setup. More parts are just more things to cause trouble. Get a set of the Talley rings for your rifle, 11mm I think, and enjoy the sleek look. I put a set of Lows on my 455 with a Weaver V7 Classic RF, and it’s a very tidy package.
