My 257 was accurate, just had problems with consistency. That MkV action now wears a #3 Brux 7RM and sits in a McWoody Wby Express, formally the Sako Safari (Wby inlet). It is glassed and free floated with a Timney trigger. Tack driver. Sold the 257 barrel, dies and brass. DF

1 gauge tri barrel!! Top it!!!
Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.
Ain’t easy havin pals.

On a serious note, the old 7mm STW and 7 RUM chunking 140gr NBT's at 3600 will spank that 257 wby's little ass as far as non-twist straight flat shooting cartridges go.

Bartlein makes barrels 5 days a week. How about a .257/.300 Wby?

Bartlein makes barrels 5 days a week. How about a .257/.300 Wby? I've heard it's not overbore if you can find slow enough powder. Wonder what that round would perc best with? DF
