I am graduating from college this semester and was hoping to go hunting on some of my wifes family's land around Wheatland, Wyoming(about 70 miles north of Cheyenne). I haven't ever applied for an out of state hunt and was wondering if you all could give me some pointers on the best way to go about things. We are wanting to get deer and antelope tags. I don't know how any of it works and it is hard as hell to get WY game and fish to answer an email so if any of you could help me out I would be very obliged. Thanks, Ryan P.S.- If any of you know any place that wants a good manufacturing engineering technologist please let me know. Having a job before I get out of school would be nice.

Honestly the easiest way for you to accomplish what you wish is to call the Wyoming Fish and Game. Then request the Big Game regulations and applications for deer and antelope. Once you have those in hand you'll be able to see what unit you need to apply for. Make sure you have them send a couple extra applications incase you screw the first one or two up. Make double sure everything is filled out correctly and get it in the mail before March 15th. If you dilly-dally around and March 15th get's past you, you will be S.O.L. Best of luck to you.
Is it Friday yet?

Ryan, Wheatland is real close to my back yard. I'm no pro, but if I can help, drop me a note. Best bet is to call G & F 307-777-4600. Never had any trouble getting answers on the phone.

You really need to check the Wyoming game and fish website. It is very comprehensive: http://gf.state.wy.us You should be able to find out everything you need from seasons to stats. I know that Antelope area 30 covers deer area 65 and that the deer season starts only 5 days after the antelope season. That region is S/E of Casper.
