I have 500 qty 139 Scenars on hand, and don’t even have a Creedmoor laugh

Today I tried to reproduce your load in my 24” Tikka. All though the load was pretty accurate, my velocities are no where close to yours. The best I could do was about 2750 with your top H4350 load, and it was not the most accurate.

When I first developed that load I was questioning velocity, but 2840 was confirmed shooting steel out to 4,5, and 600 yards. Used .570 as BC

You beat me to it. Was just going to ask myself. I’ve never been able to get enough of my current bunch of H4350 into Alpha brass to break 2700 by much, but I’m using the 147 ELDs. Scenars might be different.

I am just running $150 F1 Chrony - thus my initial hesitation, but as I mentioned, LR steel validated those velocities. I still may be a bit hesitant if that was over 20-30 rounds, but those tests and samples is over 250-300 rounds. The scenars have a very limited bearing surface which I believe helps quite a bit.

My eyes were opened and load work up and truing up of ballistics became a WHOLE lot easier when my cheap chrono finally schit the bed and I started using a LabRadar or MagnetoSpeed.....just sayin....

Funny you mention that about the Scenars. I’ve got a 20” 6.5 CM AR10. Haven’t done a ton with it, but I put a new trigger in it and wanted to try it out yesterday. I had the 139’s on the bench and 18 once fired Hornady brass. I loaded one round with 40 grains of RL17 to 2.825 and made sure it fit in the mag, strapped the Magnetospeed to the gun and shot it, registered 2776...

Went back, loaded up the rest of the cases with the exact same load and was blown away how accurate they were for my 1 round load workup... I’ll get back to it and refine the load a little but it shouldn’t be so easy..

If I wasn’t using the MS I wouldn’t have believed my numbers either...

The fact that Alliant doesn't list any data for the 6.5 with RL26 might be a clue. Add that to the remarks from the tech as told above, and there you have it.

So far, a couple of.243s have liked it pretty well under 100gr bullets, but at 45gr, not the top end. Still plenty for deer. I'm waiting for ANY 6mm Creed data from them, and they'd better hurry, because H4350 is looking good there.

In my AO there are massive temp swings from season to season so 4350 or RL16 make the most sense. In my 20' Tikka I'm getting 2650fps with the 147 ELDM's with a warm but not nuclear load of 4350 - perhaps I could eke out a touch more velocity by going to another powder but since I'm sitting on a boatload of 4350 I'll call it good for now.

Brought home a Kimber Hunter 6.5 Creedmoor this afternoon. This thread is exceedingly helpful. I'll be trying 100 or 120 TTSX. Maybe the Scemars. Gotta get brass, rings etc. Thanks guys.

You are stalling Brad with that FC270

I really like Re 26 in my Creed and .260s, but then again, I have yet to find a load that my Criterion barrels won't shoot well. My go-to load in my Creed is 46 grains of Re26, under a 147 ELDM, for 2745 fps. This load is extremely accurate and hammers deer and antelope with authority.
