Kentucky just boosted their non-resident license and tag fees about 29%. Prices on some options for non-residents have changed and include: Annual fishing license, $55; One-day fishing license, $15; Seven-day fishing license, $35; Annual hunting license, $150; Statewide deer permit, $185; Spring turkey permit, $85; Fall turkey permit, $85; One-day hunting license, $25; Seven-day hunting license, $65; Youth elk permit, $200.
The total out of state fee for a non-resident to hunt deer is now $335 (license and tags) and it entitles the holder to take up to 4 deer, one of which may be an antlered buck. In Zone 1, you can keep going and take as many antlerless deer as you want at the rate of $15 per 2. I'm just wondering how that stacks up with non-resident fees in other states. It's not like the hike is going to keep me from hunting in Kentucky, but I think that it's somewhat misguided. Zone 1 counties are the ones that Kentucky deems to be overrun with deer and they are trying to knock down the numbers. They're almost all in the northern part of the state along the Ohio River. In my way of thinking, they would want to encourage non-residents from Indiana and Ohio to come south to help take care of the problem. This rate hike will undoubtedly depress non-resident participation.

Here are AL's costs for the out of state license that would include deer. This would be for up to 3 bucks (1 must have at least 4 points on one side) and basically as many does as you want to kill. It's a long season, starting in mid-Oct for bow, mid-Nov rifle starts, and going through early Feb when rifle ends.:
All Game: Annual - $312.45 10-Day Trip - $193.00 3-Day Trip- $136.20
GA's costs for deer are below. They include 2 bucks and I think it's 12 does. Bow season starts in mid-Sept, rifle in mid-Oct and runs through early Jan: Annual, regular hunting licenses for non-residents $100. An additional license is required to hunt big game (bear, deer, and turkey) $225 for non-residents.
I would think that the out of state folks that are going to hunt KY would likely do it regardless of the increase. Maybe if it was a last minute idea it might put them off if they were trying to make up their mind to do it or not....but if they've already decided they want to do it, or it's something they've been doing for years, I don't think it would change much for them. I do reserve the right to be wrong....

$115 here but that is one deer.
Kentucky's fee increase wouldn't deter me from hunting there if I planned a trip.

A few years back New York actually lowered from $140.00 to $100.00....

Does the seven day licence ($65) plus deer permit still allow you 4 deer?

Does the seven day licence ($65) plus deer permit still allow you 4 deer? No. You need the annual license for deer. The 1 and 7 day licenses are just for small game.

$102 will get you one buck tag in Pennsylvania.
Another $27 will let you take an antlerless. But you have to apply for it in the summer.

I think WIsconsinis still $165 bucks. And ya know, they better watch out, there are a lot of hunters out there giving up the ghost on hunting. If I were ready to slow down on hunting the out of state hunts would be off the list first. New York might be one up on most states. In 2018, Michigans gun deer sales dropped 20%. I read it twice. Wisconsin gun deer sales dropped about 2% per year for the last 10 yrs or so. Bow sales have not made up for the drop in gun sales neither, not even including crossbow cause crossbow sales went up 5,000 and regular archery went down 9,000 tags. Gun tags dropped 14,000 this fall, so there is more deer out there and less hunters.

I'll continue to pay. We hunted elk here in Colorado but we're in our 60's. time to hunt at a little lower elevation. He's come to CO for years--time for me to travel to OK. I hunt with my brother in Ohio. It's a family tradition. I'll continue to do it as long as I can hopefully till we are well into our 70's. I'll run out of time before I run out of money. Bob

For steepness, Idaho's mountains don't take a back seat to anyone's. However, it's not as high as CO or NM. There are very few places where you'll hunt over 10k. A lot of our hunting is at 7 to 9k. The north half of the state is a bit lower but don't think it's horizontal.

Colorado just added some new charges into a deer tag.
Now it will cost right at $500 for a non resident to kill one Colorado deer
