The 230 Gr ELD-X looks interesting.

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

No, but seen enough with 250 Bergers and 230 ELD-X's to convince me....It just barely tolerates 200 Noslers.. For what I use it for,200 gr Speers into 3/4 does just fine...

I get great accuracy and velocity with RL17 in my 338-06. Mine does 210s around 2800 fps and 225s right at 2700 fps. Mine will probably go to Africa this year with 225s.

BSA, That load sounds close to max to me for a .338-06. I think I'm using 62 grains of RL17 with a 210 NPT but would have to check my notes.

You would be right about the 338-06. That 210 NPT would be hell on anything around here in a 338-06 at those speeds.
