Baby it's cold outside.

Says my labs.



I have electic heaters that sense the weight of the dog inside their dog houses, the dog houses are inside an Out-building near my tractor shed. There's cedar chips fluffed in there too.

However, they seem to be content laying in a sunny spot out in the yard or on the side porch, even on cooler days. Guess they're warm enough. It's about 25f outside.





What about your 'Outside Dogs' ?

MIL's dog goes outside and doesn't want to come back in.
Loves the cold.
That the big mutt.
Beagle does his biz and gets his little fat azz back inside and on the couch

My lab is long gone, but she would lay out in a snow storm and let it pile up on her.

I had some of them brooder heat lamps in there before. They ate em.

My big lab loves it outside but the lure of a tater chip and a warm bed,...................

A hay bed by the dog house is all mine ever seemed to appreciate.

I'd suppose if you had a gay dog you'd have to bring him inside and put a little sweater on him when it got cold.

Once our lab is outside he loves playin in the snow,but some days he will stick his nose out the door then back up and head for his bed,lol

My Lab will break through the ice in the frog pond and lay down in it. But come night time he likes to be on his old couch that should have been pushed out on the curb for the trash man 5 years ago.

He's been outside rolling in the snow all day. But now he's in there crashed out on his old couch.

,...plenty of room for everybody in this old house. Ain't no reason to put anybody out.

When it's -20F or colder our little house dogs have been known to say fuggit I'm poopin' inside down by the toilet.....


One of them is currently wearing a sweater.

now he is 13+ and sure likes a hot dinner by 5pm....then wants to come in & sleep awhile...

His outside bed has a heater pad on a covered porch.......been a good boy...........

Our dogs are out all night.


They got a job to do and we pay them well to do it.

We have a 75# Boxer.
Some think a brass. Hardly.

They don't have much hair, he wears a sweater when it's cold.

My old dog Valentine was born outdoors in NW PA (well, mom was tied up to a dog house ), in winter, appeared to be part husky, had a thick double coat, and loved the snow. She was an inside dog though, lived in the house with us.

The whippets here now, one has very little hair, the other one has a lot...............for a whippet. He doesn't mind outside stuff so much, until it gets through to him then he hauls ass back in through the dog door. The one with hardly any hair..............out, pee, run indoors and get in a bed, on the couch, snuggle up to mom, or under a blanket even.

PS, the whippets have sweaters and raincoats. Like Sam said, don't laugh............or I'll sic them on you.

We use hard heating pads in conjunction with cedar chips and old pillows. The dogs seem to stay pretty toasty. My pit bull is currently sporting a pink sweat shirt, as well. They get to come in the garage when it gets really cold. They typically have a good time getting into stuff and tearing things up. My three stooges are a trip!

Labs don't feel cold,...so that's not why I keep him inside. I let him keep his balls after it seemed that he was going to be a gentleman about it.

So,...I don't keep him inside because if the cold. I keep him inside so that he doesn't haul ass across the county in an effort to knock some pussy off of some old flea bit mutt he smelled on the wind.
