Government Motors? Yes, if by government you mean China.
When a country is well governed, poverty and a mean condition are something to be ashamed of. When a country is ill governed, riches and honors are something to be ashamed of . Confucius
This ^^^ X 2. Gonna park my '82 GMC Rocket truck and drive my '04 Ford Ranger. Rusty
Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy. Its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. Winston Churchill.
Not really "news". It's called corporatism. It's been around for ages.
Toyota wants to sell cars in the US of A, they build plants here
Sig and Beretta want to sell pistols in this country, they build plants here.
GM wants that HUGE market in China's booming economy, they build plants there. if that Chinese market brings them more profit at the expense of their US market, oh well. That's their corporate responsibility.
There's no morals involved, no patriotism, no ties necessarily to the home country.
Remember Rollerball, the first movie? Six corporations, no nations. Like 1984, meant to be entertainment of sorts..........turning into prophesy it seems.

The desert is a true treasure for him who seeks refuge from men and the evil of men. In it is contentment In it is death and all you seek (Quoted from "The Bleeding of the Stone" Ibrahim Al-Koni)
Going to sell my GMC truck this year and buy a Tacoma, it will also be the last time I buy one of their products. The U.S. and Canada bailed them out 10 years ago and they have the gall to do what they are currently doing. I would like to see what happens to them if they tried the same thing with communist China, bet it wouldn't end well for them at all.
Just traded my 2015 Silverado in for a 2019 Silverado. I like a lot, for first 1200 miles. Sits in garage by my 16 Z06 corvette and the Mrs 16 Tahoe. I blame he USA govt for the bail out, not GM. Flame away, if it will make you feel better.

Who do you think floats all of the Chinese companies. Many of them couldn't compete on a level playing field.

You can easily vote your way in to Socialism; but you'll have to shoot your way out.

GM has been in China many years now. The Buick brand is seen widely there as is Toyota, Nissan, Volkswagen, etc.

Whatever. GMs suck, but they always did. I've got a bunch of stuff from Japan....Shimano, Yamaha, Tohatsu, Sony etc. If Americans made the good stuff, I'd buy it. I can't afford to support welfare through taxes and unions both though.
The only thing worse than a liberal is a liberal that thinks they're a conservative.

Americans put together good stuff that’s made in foreign countries.
