Looking at a 1948 Model 70 257 Roberts.Was there two hole's drilled for a rear scope base?

Nothing wrong there. The un-drilled and single drilled are far more rare than the two hole version pictured. As with everything H&H they tended more to lag behind, but a standard caliber is 99% drilled two holes in that style Transition.

Looking at a 1948 Model 70 257 Roberts.Was there two hole's drilled for a rear scope base? Mine is same year, but not nearly as nice as that one. And yes, it has two holes in the rear bridge

Sqweeler: Many years ago I set out to find a pre-64 Winchester Model 70 that was made the month I was born - finally found one that indeed was manufactured in July of 1947. It was drilled and tapped at the factory - it was in caliber 270 Winchester by the way. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy
