same here.

Those work for me.

I have had the best of luck with Astra blades...YMMV.

Anyways, does this mean I have to throw out my vintage '60s Gilette razors?

You need even less of Shave Secret; five drops will do ya.

Try this with a badger brush: Proraso Shaving Cream, Moisturizing and Nourishing, 5.2 oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0084GVSWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_taa_g-GtCbZ8EBSPM

Converted my dad and he does not change, ever. Whips up in under 30 seconds.

Been using Barbasol for many years. I can't trust just anything to this beautiful mug. Wife uses it to shave her, ahem, legs too. Good stuff.

Started using an electric when I had the appendix hacked out. Much easy to just lay in bed and shave than hobble over to the sink!!!

Kind of got to be a habbit. But been thinking about growing a beard to off-set the bald on top!

An aside,
Young guy at work, Marine vet, Afgan tours,
mentioned using a straight razor. I questioned that, and
he said his dad had sent it to him when he was deployed.

When they were in forward positions, and there were few comforts,
A good fancy shave was one of few treats they had. Almost all of them
used the straight razors, brushes.....

I used Barbasol for a little over 28 years when I had to shave everyday and keep my hair high and tight.

After I retired in 2016 there aint nobody going to tell me to shave or cut my hair, I will cut it when I am dam ready.

Yelp I look like Grizzly Adams as they say at the local super market, having a blast, I also tell them I am living the dream.

For the last 25+ years, when I decided to give Gillette the finger, I have used a Merkur 34HD razor. For blades I use Personna Platinum, Merkur, Pol Silver Super Iridium, and Derby Extra. I don't particularly like the Derby blades. The next blades I try will be the Israeli Red Personnas, but it's hard to justify another blade purchase since I probably have enough to last the rest of my life. My favorite brush is a Simpson 58 Manchurian, which I try to "save" and only use it about once a month. My daily brush is a Simpson #3 Duke in Best. The shaving soap I prefer is the Classic Brand Unscented Shaving Cream, which is actually a 3" soap puck. I dislike anything "enhanced" with scents.

I'm growing a beard right now, so I probably won't shave for a while.

I've not see the prior commercial for probably 8 or 9 days. Did they pull it?

I use Gillette Mach 3's. Prior to moving to Australia five years ago we did a Costco run and loaded up many things that were either stupid expensive there (like razor blades) or not available (like the spices we use). As such I still have nine four packs. With a full beard I shave my throat maybe twice a week. I am guessing I am good for another 10 years easy.

Good commercial, but.....it looks like our hero threw the German hand grenade into the midst of his fellow GI's. Not cool.
