Need someone to run some Quickload data for me.
7mm Dakota, 26" bbl, 65k psi max
168 ABLR

Any pet load info would be great.
Thanks in advance

hicountry,
I ran a 24" Dakota for a while, Lilja #3.
PM me, and when I get a minute to access my notes I'll give you a bunch of data with 150-180 grain bullets.
I'm in the process of building another.

Here is a load that I use in the 7mm Dakota.
140 grain Trophy Bonded Tip,H-4831 SC 74.0 grains,Federal 210 Match primers.
From the 26" barrel it is averaging 3364 fps.

Three more.
160 grain Nosler Partiton,73.0 grains IMR 7828,CCI 250 Mag primer. No velocity, but IIRC it was 3170 +/- fps.
160 grain Trophy Bonded the old style,70.5 grains IMR 7828,CCI 250 Mag primer. No velocity either, but probably around 3100 fps.
150 grain Winchester Power Point,81.0 grains Ramshot Magnum,CCI 250 Mag primer,3266 fps average.

I was getting 3000fps with a 160ab, over 71.5 7828.
Accuracy was .5" with the factory wood stock. I then put it in a fiberglass, and the groups opened to over 1".
Maybe I need to go up higher.
Nyrifleman was kind enough to share some of his loads.
He had good results with RL25.
Thanks again guys for the info.....

Thanks again guys for the info..... You can get that with a 7 Rem Mag. Keep adding powder until you hit 3200. 3250 is doable, but pushing the envelope. 3200 is easily done in the Dakota. You may also want to do a search for BobinNH old posts. He had a Dakota for a while, and his Mashburn loads will work in the Dakota as well as case capacities are virtually identical. BTW, I"m getting ready to send a 7mm Rem Mag M-70 Classic Stainless Featherweight off to Gene Simillion to become my new 7mm Dakota. Gene is going to open the mag box a bit, and custom throat the barrel. I'm thinking a Pac-Nor. I plan on loading the 160 Accubond and Partition to the base of the neck.

I used 7mm Wby load data. Start low and work up until it gets to the velocity, for instance a 140 grain at 3400 fps. It also helps if you have a chronograph.

The more information you provided, the better.
Cartridge: Cartridge over all length: Bullet touching/jammed into lands at C.O.A.L. (Y/N): Bullet: Measured bullet length: Powder type & charge weight: Case length: Case water capacity (measured level to case mouth): Barrel length: Barrel twist rate:

QuickLOADs database of bullets often does not have bullet lengths (or case capacities) that jive with real world components. Enough to change the numbers quite a bit. I'd recommend measuring all three bullets for nominal length and measuring your cases for H20 capacity. Otherwise, any output I give you won't necessarily be worth much.
Also, are you looking for data for a particular powder or the whole gamut of powders?

For now, just use what's in the database. Just looking for a point to work up to. I use a Chrono for load development. I'm looking for velocities per powder type and knowing where the max velocities are.
I'll stop adding powder long before listed max if the velocities are there.
Thanks

I have set the max pressure to 63kpsi. That's just how I roll. Cartridge : 7 mm Dakota
Bullet : .284, 168, Nosler Accubond LR 58623 G7
Useable Case Capaci: 79.321 grain H2O = 5.150 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 3.330 inch = 84.58 mm
Barrel Length : 26.0 inch = 660.4 mm
Predicted Data for Indicated Charges of the Following Powders.
Matching Maximum Pressure: 63000 psi, or 434 MPa
or a maximum loading ratio or filling of 108 %
These calculations refer to your specified settings in QuickLOAD 'Cartridge Dimensions' window.

loads or exceeds maximum suggested loads as presented in current handloading manuals. Understand
that all of the listed powders can be unsuitable for the given combination of cartridge, bullet
and gun. Actual load order can vary, depending upon lot-to-lot powder and component variations.
