Thanks guys. Those two are at our last place that we left in 16 on Vancouver Island north end. Actually one is off our front deck, and the other is nearby at maybe my favorite all time trout lake. wink

I would be most whitetails are shot from some sort of stand.. The box blinds are more popular than ever... The area I used to hunt in Pa. is covered with them.. The way of the world today..

I hate to ask, but how long do they live? Are they cursed with the large breed short lifespan?

Actually they have a 10 to 12 year lifespan.

The description Sam quoted describes him to a tee. Excellent family dog, lets the kids do anything with him and has never batted an eyebrow. Great with their friends but suspicious of all strangers. Really intelligent dogs, he wakes up my boys by name, just tell him who to wake up and he’s on it. I can leave a steak on the coffee table all day long and he wouldn’t touch it. He’s almost 3 years old and he hasn’t gotten into trouble once in his life, that’s no joke.

Up until the day we bought him I had never heard of a Pressa Canario, I’ve always had Rottweilers, but he sure has grown on the family. Some days he’s too relaxed though.

Sounds a lot like my son's Bull Mastiff. Extremely aware of anything out of the ordinary and will step in any time he thinks somebody is being aggressive with family members. But most of the time he is just a big dust catcher and he is the biggest lover around. He is in your lap and wants to be petted and held more than any dog I've ever seen... scares the hell out of delivery guys who come to the door, though. My understanding is they were bred as a Grounds keepers friends and are disposed to sneak up on poachers and knock them down and stand on them to keep them in place until the game keeper can get there to affect an arrest.

Funny thing is, he was raised with a couple Pugs and sometimes he thinks he is a Pug.... funny as hell to see him running away from a Pug that has him by an ear and won't let go....
