Extremely aware of anything out of the ordinary and will step in any time he thinks somebody is being aggressive with family members. But most of the time he is just a big dust catcher and he is the biggest lover around. He is in your lap and wants to be petted and held more than any dog I've ever seen... scares the hell out of delivery guys who come to the door, though. My understanding is they were bred as a Grounds keepers friends and are disposed to sneak up on poachers and knock them down and stand on them to keep them in place until the game keeper can get there to affect an arrest. Funny thing is, he was raised with a couple Pugs and sometimes he thinks he is a Pug.... funny as hell to see him running away from a Pug that has him by an ear and won't let go.... Bob Never underestimate your ability to overestimate your ability.
